Why a GhioldiRosano canvas is more than just a print.
When you choose a piece for your home, you aren’t just looking for something to fill a blank space on a wall. You are looking for a piece that captures light, preserves detail, and stands the test of time.
At GhioldiRosano Studio, we achieve this through a perfect marriage of traditional materials and cutting-edge technology. Today, we want to take you “behind the scenes” of the science that makes our canvases worthy of a gallery.
1. What exactly is Giclée?
The term comes from the French word gicler (to spray). Unlike standard industrial printing, the Giclée process uses high-precision inkjet technology with a very fine resolution.
- The Result: Incredible depth of color and a level of detail that captures every subtle brushstroke of Daniel’s paintings and every texture in our graphic designs.
- The Longevity: We use archival-grade inks that are resistant to fading. This means the vibrant colors you see today will remain just as striking decades from now.
2. The Foundation: Acid-Free Poly-Cotton Canvas
The “paper” matters as much as the ink. We use a high-quality poly-cotton blend for our canvases.
- Why Acid-Free? Standard papers and canvases often contain acids that cause them to yellow or crack over time. Our canvases are PH-neutral and acid-free, ensuring the fabric stays bright and intact for a lifetime.
- Texture and Feel: The blend provides the perfect tactile sensitivity that Estela oversees in our production. It feels substantial, looks professional, and has that classic “artistic” matte finish.
3. Hand-Stretched Perfection
Every 18 x 24″ (45.7 x 60.9 cm) canvas is hand-stretched over solid wood stretcher bars.
- This ensures the tension of the fabric is perfect—no sagging, no wrinkles.
- It arrives at your door ready to be the centerpiece of your room, mounted with the precision that only craftsmanship (combined with modern logistics) can provide.
Art with a Global Guarantee
By combining our Uruguayan creative vision with the world-class printing standards of our European production partners, we offer you the best of both worlds: The soul of an independent studio and the technical perfection of a museum.
When you hang a GhioldiRosano piece, you aren’t just decorating—you are curating.
